A key figure of kinetic art (or ‘Op art’, coming from ‘optical art’), Victor Vasarely marked the art of the twentieth century by his prolific geometric abstract production. A veritable master of composition in which geometric elements were combined, interlocked, superimposed and assembled, Vasarely developed a very accomplished vision of art that advocated a formal minimalism and optical effects.
