This unique overview is introduced by two contributions, the first devoted to the production and use of th objects, the second to the specifities of the collection.
These two enlightening essays are respectively signed by Robert Steven Bianchi, former curator at the Brooklyn Museum of Art of New York and present chief curator in charge of the Archaeology collection of the Fondation Gandur pour l'Art, and Christine Ziegler, honorary director of the department of Egyptian Antiquities at the musée du Louvre.
