Applicants who meet one of the following criteria may apply to the FGA for a scholarship:

  1. Any student with an undergraduate degree from a university, from an institute of higher education (HES), or any other institutions equivalent to a Swiss university may submit an application in order to obtain a scholarship, which will enable him/her to undergo postgraduate studies in the field of arts* in a university, or in an institute of higher education having the same recognition as a university in Switzerland or abroad.
*The field of arts is understood in this context to be a discipline in the visual or applied arts.
  2. Any student who has studied abroad may only apply if he/she has completed a postgraduate study (doctorate or equivalent) in the field of arts in a university, or in an institute of higher education dependent on or having the same recognition as a university in Switzerland.
  3. Any student who has studied abroad may only apply if he/she has completed a postgraduate study (doctorate or equivalent) specifically related to a theme featured in the collections deposited within the Fondation Gandur pour l'Art, for instance an artistic movement of one of the collections.

The applicant will be required to provide a cover letter to explain his/her approach, along with all other relevant documents (CV, list of publications, selected topics, financial documents, acceptance letter of the institution where he/she wishes to pursue his/her studies, reference letter from two people or professors).

The granting of such scholarships is subject to the condition of the student’s agreement to carry out a research which will serve the foundation’s purposes. The Fondation Gandur pour l’Art reserves the right to make direct contact with the thesis supervisor (or any other professor responsible for monitoring the student’s studies).

Once the scholarship is granted, the Fondation Gandur pour l’Art reserves the right to suspend or cancel the payment if the student fails to fulfil his/her obligation to the foundation, or if he/she does not pursue the thesis within the time frame noted within the application.
