In constant evolution, each of the collections of La Fondation Gandur pour l’Art, are organized into five distinct areas: Antiquities, Ethnology, Fine Arts, Decorative Arts and African Contemporary Art and of the Diaspora.
These domains are constantly evolving. The aim in each case is to develop a coherent corpus, whether it be specific civilizations, historical periods, major schools or aesthetic movements.
Archaeology
Rich of more than 1250 objects, the collection has Egyptian, Greek and Roman bronzes of great quality and a set of amulets composing one of the richest collections in the world.
Fine Arts
The collection gathers around 1230 artworks from the 20th century, with the abstraction of the second school of Paris, the CoBrA movement, the Narrative Figuration, the New Realism and Supports/Surfaces as favourite trends.
Decorative Arts
A collection of over 400 objects of art and decoration where the emphasis is on 18th century French furniture and sculpture, from the Middle Ages to Baroque art, along with a number of ceramics from 20th century artists.
Ethnology
Objects from the pre-Columbian world and the distant islands of Oceania: in all, over four hundred objects that form a collection characterised by the variety and complementarity of its themes.
African Contemporary Art and of the Diaspora
The collection of African Contemporary Art and of the Diaspora brings together over 420 works produced by artists who have strong links with the African continent and its history in the many forms that characterize them, from the Maghreb to southern Africa.
