Ticinese artist Massimo Cavalli (* 1930), the Italian Guido Strazza (* 1922) and Franco-German artist Hans Hartung (1904-1989) all shared an interest in exploring the fundamental characteristics of painting: the surface, light, colour and use of the brush. This exhibition highlights the importance of the practice of engraving and the technical experiences that incidentally generated a new approach to painting.
