Origins

From September 25 to October 30, 2025, Ecolint’s Centre des arts presents Origins, an exhibition exploring the question of origins. The Fondation Gandur pour l’Art is lending six artworks for this show organised by the Centre des arts’ curatorial team and the students of Geneva’s International School participating in the educational project Ecoart.

CURATORS: MANUEL FADAT, MÉLANIE DELAUNE, ECOART students

For its 8th edition, the Curatorial Team of the Curatorial Project – Ecoart has explored the theme of origins — a complex, evolving, and open-ended concept, chosen collaboratively during the curatorial process. The exhibition reflects this theme through multidimensional works that offer plastic, aesthetic, conceptual, and perceptual interpretations. Born of collective imagination, the exhibition considers the question of origins from every angle, becoming itself the origin of a constantly shifting narrative in the eyes of its viewers.

The Fondation Gandur pour l’Art participates in this exhibition through the loan of five artworks from its collection of African contemporary art and of the diaspora, which were conceived by Thiémoko Claude Diarra, Georgina Maxim, Nyaba Leon Ouedraogo and Tiemar Tegene.

Ecoart, an educational project

Each year, the students of the Curatorial Team — under the guidance of Manuel Fadat and Mélanie Delaune —curate and produce an exhibition from start to finish. Ecoart is both an educational and professional project, designed to raise awareness of careers in the arts and culture, as well as contemporary art and curatorial practice.
