MUSÉE D'ART DE PULLY, PULLY (CH) 1 May 2015 - 27 September 2015
Zao Wou-Ki, la lumière et le souffle
An exceptional exhibition that vacillates between Western abstraction and Asian calligraphy, with engravings, watercolours, oils, Chinese ink and rare books on display
Curators : Delphine Rivier and Yann Hendgen
Prints and watercolours with an explosion of vibrant colours. Abstract forms that undulate and come into focus before fading out again... The play of reflections between the artworks of Zao Wou-Ki and the landscape that can be glimpsed through the windows of the Musée d’art offer the visitor a panorama of horizons, openings, and perspectives. The viewer’s gaze wavers and the images merge together. In Pully, the painted and engraved work of this major artist from the second half of the 20th century blends wonderfully with the setting that becomes his for the duration of the exhibition.
